quilting vacation

My quilting buddy Katie and I are enjoying a week of quilting, reading, napping and hanging out. I haven't posted anything in so long, once I got batteries for my camera I figured I should at least post some pictures of what we've been working on this week. These first big string blocks with PINK (what else?) are mine. They're just sitting on the design wall now, haven't sewn any together yet.
This quilt was inspired by an antique velvet quilt I saw here.

These red and white beauties are Katie's. Cannot believe the amount of work and precision required for these. I don't think I'll ever be that motivated or precise! But I never say never.

Once I get home I need to take pictures of my finished Orca Bay quilt, which got done the day before we left for vacation and I still need to wash and photograph it.

And lastly, I've been trying to edit my blog. If anyone has a suggestion about how to reduce the size of that photo at the top, I'd appreciate it.
